Welcome to our home.

Humble as it is, we offer it to you with love.

If you are thirsty, we will share our water.
If you are hungry, we will share our food.
If you are weary, we will prepare a bed for you.

Whoever you were before you entered,
now that you are here, you are our friend.

Enter, friend,
in peace,
and be welcome.

Many cultures require courtesy for all visitors to one’s home – friends, family, strangers. This blessing reminds me of that imperative, and encourages me to treat with respect all who come to my door.
